About the Scholarship

About 20% of our PhD students who are enrolled on campus receive Cornell University Fellowships (referred to as Sage Fellowships or Cornell Fellowships depending on the field of study). These grants typically give full tuition coverage, a nine-month stipend, and Cornell individual student health insurance. Students could also receive a summer stipend.

A fellowship permits graduate students to finish their graduate studies with no related teaching or research responsibilities (as they are in a teaching or research assistantship). Internal or external merit-based scholarships known as fellowships are regularly used to support a student’s full-time academic career.
