The following advantages are given to Presidential Scholars throughout the course of eight semesters:

  • A one-time grant of $2,500 for study abroad costs with a credit component.
  • Opportunity to apply for a salaried University Assistantship to do research and gain interesting job experience in a department of higher learning.

Depending on eligibility for university assistantships and status as an in-state or out-of-state student, this reward might amount up to $28,000 annually.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for the scholarship, all applicants must fulfill the following requirements.

  • First apply for admission to Georgia University and then apply for the scholarship offered by the Georgia State University
  • Submit a complete application to Georgia State University(including high school transcripts) by the priority deadline of November 15, 2022.
  • Be an incoming first-year student, planning to attend Georgia State for the first time in Fall 2023 and qualify for Honors. Current Georgia State students are ineligible.
  • By November 15, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, submit your entire Stamps and Presidential Scholarship application.
  • By November 18, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. EST, request that your recommender send in their letter of recommendation.
  • If chosen as a finalist, attend the interviews on Scholarship Day. March 3, 2023 will be Scholarship Day. Attendance in person is mandatory. On Friday, February 24, international finalists will have the chance to do a virtual interview. By the middle of February, participants who have been invited to Scholarship Day will get information and instructions.
